Student counseling services (SCS) :

Better Self’s student counseling service is designed to facilitate student achievement, improve student behavior and attendance, and help students develop socially. Our mental health professionals counseling and serve an educational role in and around schools. And support students who are experiencing personal or academic challenges, Also help students choose careers and plan for college, and intervene when students face behavioral, physical, or mental health challenges. We offer a broad range of student counseling such as:

Besides counseling services for students, Weaving can also provide counseling for parents (if the organization allows the student’s parents to attend the counseling sessions as well), families, guardian and caretakers

Counseling Modes :

Face-to-Face Counselling

Face-to-face counseling is a highly popular mode of counseling as not only does it enable the counselor and student to meet and build rapport, it also allows the counselor to observe nuances in the student’s verbal and non-verbal communication.

Video Counselling

In the event the individual has reservations about attending the session face-to-face, the session can be conducted online via video chat. The individual will need a smartphone/laptop or computer with an Internet connection, web camera and audio input (At the moment, sessions can only be hosted on a smartphone, laptop or computer).

Why Teachers Counseling?

Teachers increasingly face many challenges in a wide range of areas, mainly in those related to their students’ behavioral problems and psychological well-being. Evidence shows that teachers can effectively assist students in difficulties when they are adequately guided and supported by well-trained school counselors. Hence, the need for more holistic and systemic school-based interventions for children facing difficulties and their families, as well as specialized assistance for teachers. Focusing on the role of teachers in promoting the social-emotional health of children facing mental health difficulties,

Weaving Wellness offers the key components of an innovative counseling intervention within the school context that focuses on enabling teachers to be more resilient and more confident in order to better deal with cases of “difficult” students. Our model integrates elements of systemic, psychodynamic and resilience-based thinking with a strong emphasis on “inclusive education” issues. The key theoretical background and the various aspects of this model, discussing the challenges of its implementation. They finally propose that in order to be effective, such models should emphasize the collaborative, dialectical, and systemic aspects of the counseling process with teachers.

Why Group Counseling?

Do your students/school staff members feel a high-pressure and fast-paced environment? Group counseling sessions serve as useful check-ins with the students/staff and these sessions are facilitated by a professional counselor. Group counseling sessions have been observed to help individuals increase their self-awareness, automatic thoughts and emotional regulation. Furthermore, participants of the sessions can provide peer support to one another through the common experiences shared.

Such sessions can be conducted on a monthly or quarterly basis, depending on the organization’s preference.

Why Grief Counseling?

When someone passes on, especially if sudden and unexpected, it comes as a shock to those around him or her and the emotions can be overwhelming. Some of the feelings that we may feel are shock, anger, guilt and fright. Individuals process and experience grief differently. If a student/staff member in your school/organization has suddenly passed on, his or her classmate/colleagues may have difficulty coping with the loss. some of these statements that your student/staff may make.

• “I just spoke to him/her yesterday.”
• “How can this be? We are supposed to go to the school outing next week, and now he’s gone?”
• “I still expect him/her to walk into the school and greet everyone chirpily as he/she always does.”

Your school can make arrangements to provide support for your student/staff during this difficult time. Better Self can make school grief counseling sessions where our counselor will be at your premises for either half-day or full-day to provide individual or grief counseling sessions. Group counseling sessions will provide peer support and encourage the student/staff to open up to one another as they know that they are not alone.
